Helen Brown | As a Horizons environmental education coordinator Helen has the enviable job of travelling our roads at the helm of '14 wheels of environmental thunder' - Horizons' new Green RIG mobile education unit. Along with her fellow riggers, Helen aims to teach children and adults alike about how to 'think green' and to recognise the impact we have on today's environment. Helen says she's scored her dream job as Horizons' mobile educator. As a Massey Applied Science graduate with a teaching diploma, she has a real passion for sustainable living and says she has her sights set on inspiring the Region to 'green up our act'. |

Kathie Ellery | Kathie also considers her role as environmental education coordinator her dream job. Currently studying towards her Master's in Environmental Education at Massey, and with a Bachelor of Education and Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Studies in Education, she is in her element at Horizons. Kathie lived and taught in Milton Keynes in the UK for several years before returning with her family to teach in her hometown of Wanganui. She was involved in turning a Wanganui school into an Enviroschool and says New Zealand is 'right up there' in terms of quality environmental education in schools. Kathie lives in Wanganui with her husband and two children. |
