This fund supports non Enviroschools/ ECE Centres to take action for the environment as part of learning about biodiversity and biosecurity in the Horizons region. This can include pest plant or animal control, projects that look to improve water quality or habitats such as native planting and those that address pollution.
Horizons' Freshwater, Land, River Management and Biodiversity teams all have a variety grants that the public are able to apply for when looking to improve our Region's environment. From fencing and planting, to rejuvenating wetlands, or helping to control erosive hill country we're here to help.

Horizons’ Kanorau Koiora Taketake - Indigenous Biodiversity Community grants provide funding and advice to community groups who are helping to make this region a healthy environment where people are thriving.
Our contestable fund for climate related projects aims to support and encourage community efforts to build resilience to the effects of climate change, or support the transition to a sustainable carbon neutral regional economy by 2050.
The Don Linklater Memorial Bursary is available to support students from the Horizons Region and studying in a field relevant to our work.
Applications are now open for our two Sustainable Land Use Scholarships, offered to students studying at Massey University, Palmerston North, in the areas of soil science and farm management.
This fund was re-named in memory of the former Cr Pat Kelly who was a huge supporter of the Enviroschools programme. It supports sustainability projects from Enviroschools in the Horizons Region.
