Feilding network improvements

Through the Moving Manawatū consultation in 2024, we found that there was a desire to increase the services in Feilding, and for the Orbiter to include a growing area of Feilding near Port Street East.

We are excited to let you know these changes will come into effect on 4 July 2026.

The new network will focus on having:

  • a more consistent frequency of services,
  • increased weekend services (including Sunday), and
  • a fully electric Connect-branded fleet.
If you’re a current passenger on our Commuter service, you may have noticed we phased in some changes earlier in the year. With the route travelling both ways down Grey St in Palmerston North and no longer entering the airport terminal. This was a simple change that we were able to make at the start of the year to try and reduce interruption to passengers part-way through the year.

The upcoming changes will also include renaming the 311 Commuter to the 302 Connector.

To celebrate the launch of these improvements, we will be offering free fares for two weeks on all Feilding buses.
