Combined Environmental Grants - Open

Horizons' Freshwater, Land, River Management and Biodiversity teams all have a variety grants that the public are able to apply for when looking to improve our Region's environment. From fencing and planting, to rejuvenating wetlands, or helping to control erosive hill country we're here to help. 

Sponsorship - Open

Horizons receives dozens of sponsorship proposals each year. Due to limited funds, strict guidelines have been developed to allow us to assess sponsorship proposals on a case by case basis. 

Sustainable Land Use Scholarships - Open

Applications are now open for our two Sustainable Land Use Scholarships, offered to students studying at Massey University, Palmerston North, in the areas of soil science and farm management.

The Pat Kelly Enviroschools Action Fund - Open

This fund was re-named in memory of the former Cr Pat Kelly who was a huge supporter of the Enviroschools programme. It supports sustainability projects from Enviroschools in the Horizons Region.

Regional Freshwater Community Grant - Closed

Horizons' Regional Freshwater Community Grant is a new contestable fund for community projects throughout the Horizons Region which encourage engagement with or education around freshwater. 

Kanorau Koiora Taketake - Indigenous Biodiversity Community Grant - Closed

Horizons’ Kanorau Koiora Taketake - Indigenous Biodiversity Community grants provide funding and advice to community groups who are helping to make this region a healthy environment where people are thriving.

Pūtea Hapori Urupare Āhuarangi - Community Climate Response Fund - Closed

Our contestable fund for climate related projects aims to support and encourage community efforts to build resilience to the effects of climate change, or support the transition to a sustainable carbon neutral regional economy by 2050.

Don Linklater Memorial Bursaries - Closed

The Don Linklater Memorial Bursary is available to support students from the Horizons Region and studying in a field relevant to our work.
