Learn more about Horizons at Rural Games and Central District Field Days

Horizons Regional Council will be attending this year’s Rural Games and Central District Field Days, following two years of interruptions to the events due to COVID-19.

Horizons chair Rachel Keedwell says she is pleased the well-loved events are returning.

“After disruptions over the last couple of years to these events it’s great to see them return and to be involved again. The events are a great opportunity for people in the community to have engaging conversations with our team directly, and to learn more about the vital work our council does for the region.”

Cr Keedwell says Horizons will be running stalls at both events, with staff ready to answer questions about everything from our region’s waterways to plant and animal pest management.

“Horizons staff at the stalls will be hosting fun interactive games for the whole family and giving out free native seed boxes as well. I encourage our communities to get along and support these events and take the opportunity to visit our sites to learn more about what Horizons does.”

The Ford Ranger New Zealand Rural Games are being held in Palmerston North at the Square on 10-12 March, with free entry. The Horizons stall will be at the Games on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March, from 10am – 4pm each day. Horizons are also running a free Connect bus service within Palmerston North to get to and from the event, with the schedule available to view online.

The Central District Field Days runs the following weekend from 16-18 March at Manfeild in Feilding, with tickets available at the website or at the entry gate. The Horizons stall will be located at site E14 F14, with free parking and discounted taxi services also available at the event.
