Manawatu-Wanganui Regional Council has received a consent application from Wanganui District Council to discharge screened effluent from the Wanganui Township into the Tasman Sea via the existing ocean outfall.

Application Details

Resource consent sought from Manawatu-Wanganui Regional Council comprised of the following activities:

Discharge Permit - Water
To discharge milli-screened effluent from the Wanganui Wastewater Treatment Plant into a coastal marine area.  The discharge is via the existing ocean outfall located approximately 1800m off South Beach, Wanganui in the Tasman Sea.

A term of 3 years is sought for the activities identified above.
