Our community outcomes are what we aim to achieve to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural wellbeing of our communities in the present and for the future whilst taking a sustainable development approach (Local Government Act 2002). As part of every Long-term Plan, Horizons as a local authority, is required to set out the region’s community outcomes. For this Long-term Plan, Council has refreshed its community outcomes. This review was also an opportunity to reflect changes to the legislation in 2019. The following are what Council has determined to be the high level outcomes that it pursues. They are:
