The discharge of treated process wastewater from the Fonterra and Goodman Fielder Longburn Manufacturing sites to the Manawatū River near Walkers Road, Longburn.
Horizons Regional Council has received a consent application from Fonterra Limited to renew its existing resource consent to discharge process wastewater to the Manawatū River. Additional treatment and further limits are proposed on the discharge compared to the existing consented activity, with it also being proposed that the discharge to the river will only occur when discharge to land is not appropriate.
