Community Shuttle Services

Horizons Regional Council supports the following services for the public making their way to medical appointments.
 

Horowhenua District

Foxton Beach Community Centre Van​

Foxton Beach Community Centre operates 6 Health Shuttles, one equipped with wheelchair hoist.
  • Travel Monday - Friday from Foxton Beach to: Foxton, Levin, Shannon, Himatangi, Waitarere, Palmerston North and Wellington.
  • Book through Foxton Beach Community Centre 9.00am - 3.00pm. Booking Office 027 787 8387 or email bookings@fbcc.org.nz
  • Foxton to PN return $25, Levin return $15, Foxton return $10
 

Horowhenua Health Shuttle

Transport to medical appointments from the Horowhenua Health Shuttle to Palmerston North. The service will transport passengers for a donation made to the Horowhenua District Health Transportation Trust.

Manawatū District

Rural Bus Manawatū 

An on-demand service connecting Manawatū and Rangitīkei rural communities to Aorangi Feilding and Papaioea Palmerston North.
  • Van seating for 11 along with a luggage trailer to transport mobility aids and purchases made in Feilding.
  • Up to four people can travel from the same pick-up address and pay only one fare.
  • Variable pricing depending on where you live in Manawatū.

Hato Hone St John Health Shuttle – Feilding, Palmerston North

The St John Health Shuttle is a community service that transports people to and from health appointments. It is a volunteer-delivered, ride-share service, with wheelchair capability.
  • No set fee, a koha or donation is appreciated
  • Operates Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays)

The St John Health Shuttle is a community service that transports people to and from health appointments. It is a volunteer-delivered, ride-share service, with wheelchair capability.

Rangitīkei District

Rural Bus Manawatū 

Initially founded as an on-demand service to connect rural Manawatū to Feilding, Rural Bus Manawatū expanded its offering at the end of 2025 to service Rangitīkei and offer Palmerston North as a destination. The service operates on weekdays.
  • Van seating for 11 along with a luggage trailer to transport mobility aids and purchases.

Provides transport for people with disabilities.
  • Wheelchair accessible.
  • Monday to Friday service.
  • Book a day in advance - phone REAP on (07) 896 8680.
  • Donation from users is encouraged.
