APP-2022203996.00 Rangitikei District Council - Rātana Wastewater Treatment Plant

Horizons Regional Council has received an application from Rangitīkei District Council. The application seeks to obtain the necessary consents associated with the operation of the Rātana Wastewater Treatment Plant to land. This includes the discharge of wastewater to Schedule F dune lands and natural wetlands.

The proposal includes the associated restoration of natural wetlands as well as disturbance to, and offset of, natural wetlands. In addition, the Applicant intends to undertake land disturbance associated with the construction of a storage pond. The Applicant is seeking a consent term expiring 1 July 2049.

  • Discharge permit to discharge to air (odour from the land application area (LAA))

  • Land use consent to undertake earthworks associated with construction of a new storage pond.

  • Discharge permit to discharge to a rare habitat.

  • Discharge permit to water for the discharge within 100 m of a natural wetland.

  • Land use consent to undertake earthworks within 100 m of a natural wetland.

The Applicant is seeking a consent term expiring1 July 2049.
