Types of submissions
The Regional Council makes submissions on resource management proposals from central government, other local authorities and statutory organisations. The type of submission we make depends on our role and the purpose of our involvement.
Advocacy
We advocate for outcomes that support the region’s interests. Most of the Regional Council’s submissions fall into this category.
Technical evidence
We provide technical information and expertise to support decision-making, such as through district plan and resource consent processes.
Requiring authority
We exercise our statutory powers as a requiring authority, including when seeking designations for infrastructure.
