DATE UPDATED - Now Sunday 19th Ocober
Horizons biodiversity biosecurity and partnerships manager Craig Davey says “after two years running an open day style event, we are wanting to change it up a bit.
“We hope this event will encourage a greater appreciation for Tōtara Reserve, and how the community can use it.
“To participate, put together a team of up to four people, and for just $5 per team you can spend a day at Tōtara Reserve completing challenges and learning about the region’s environment.
“Your team of four can be made up of friends, family, or a mix of both.
“There are ten challenges that teams will need to complete during the day, with spot prizes up for grabs.”
Tōtara Reserve Advisory Board Chair Fiona Gordon says “the goal for the event is to bring friends and families together to explore Tōtara Reserve in a new fun way, all while learning about what Horizons is doing across the region.
“This is the perfect opportunity to explore our beautiful Regional Park, and enjoy a free BBQ lunch, provided by Awahou School.
“Horizons will also be providing free bus transport, with buses from Palmerston North, Feilding and Ashhurst.
“When registering for the event, you can select your pickup location to secure your spot.”
To register your team head to www.eventfinda.co.nz. Team registrations are limited to the first 50 teams.
